AFC: Erbil Defeats Kazma Kuwaiti, Takes Lead in Its Group
Erbil Football Club defeated Kazma Kuwaiti team (2-1) yesterday evening in the fifth round of the second group competition of the Asian Federation Cup.
The first half of the match ended with a draw (1-1) between the two teams, who played on the Sadaqa and Salam (Friendship and Peace) playground.
Erbil's first goal was scored at minute 16 by Halkurd Mullah al-Mohammed. During the stoppage time of the first half, the referee gave a penalty for Kazma team, through which Youseef al-Nasser successfully scored to end the first half with a draw.
In the second half, Erbil's Ahmed al-Ibrahim scored the second and last goal of the match at minute 57, which ended (2-1) for the favor of Erbil.
With the conclusion of this round, Erbil headed the group with 11 points, three points more than the teams of Urouba and Kazma that have eight points each, while the East Bengal ranks the last place with no points.
The last round of the group will be held on May 9, where Kazma will face East Bengal on their home ground and Erbil will host the Urouba team on the same day.
Three players were absent from the match due to injury: Loay al-Salah, Ayad al-Ahmed and Haider al-Qurman.
