500 AIDS Carriers in Iraq, Says Health Ministry

A spokespersonfor Iraq's Health Ministry said there are more than 500 AIDS carriers in thecountry and most of them returned to Iraq from abroad.

Tariq Ziad said: "The Health Ministry decidedto pay the virus carriers 250,000 to 500,000 IQD ($215.00 to $429.00) for eachmonth. For that reason the Health Ministry sent a letter to the FinanceMinistry."

This monthly grant will be given to allAIDS victims in Iraq.
