Baghdad, 08 May 2008 (Voices of Iraq)
The Labor and Vocational Training Department in the Iraqi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs on Wednesday said that it has received applications for soft loans in accordance with its plan to reduce unemployment levels in the country.
"The department has received a large number of applications from unemployed persons and others registered in the center's database," read a statement released by the Iraqi cabinet's Media National Center and received by Aswat al-Iraq, Voices of Iraq, (VOI), quoting an official media source from the ministry.
Nearly 21,278 persons have applied for the loans through 12 outlets run by the ministry, the source noted, adding that the deadline for applications is May 10, 2008.
