Pact Supports Sovereignty, Protects Funds – President

President of Iraq, Jalal Talabani, on Thursday said that the Iraqi-U.S. security pact, passed earlier today by parliament, reinforces national sovereignty and protects Iraq’s funds during his meeting with Iranian ambassador in Baghdad, according to a presidential release.
“Talabani received the Iranian ambassador in Iraq this evening,” said the release that was received by Aswat al-Iraq.
“The two sides conferred the two countries’ mutual relations,” it added.
